Whether you are looking to teach yoga, deepen your own practice, or meet new people, the Yoga College HB Teacher Training program is dedicated to continuing Original Hot Yoga in our local community.
Come join us for our next in-house Original Hot Yoga 300 Hour Teacher Training. This training will be a journey to redefine your relationship with your yoga practice, whether you want to teach or just take the next step on your path to a more fulfilling practice. Our team of experienced instructors and visiting teachers will lead you through an intensive 6-week program that will open new doors to your self-awareness, foster meaningful relationships with our community of students and leaders, and ultimately start you on your path to teaching Original Hot Yoga.
Dive deeper into your practice in this 300 Hour training program where you will learn to teach traditional Hot Yoga, 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. You will be introduced to various class formats and versed in the intricacies of the beginner hot yoga postures. You will also be eligible to earn your teaching certificate with the Original Hot Yoga Association.
This is a 6 week program that will take place February 29-April 11, 2020. The daily schedule will be:
Monday- Friday 7:30am-6pm
2 yoga classes per day weekdays for the first 4 weeks
1 yoga class per day weekends
Professional Development afternoons in weeks 5 and 6.

This 300 Hour training will cover:
Yoga Techniques & Yoga Practice
Students will learn to guide others through the complete execution of the Hot Yoga Sequence, 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. Posture Clinics will dissect individual asana and gradually progress into sequences of multiple postures. Objectives include a thorough understanding of posture mechanics, comprehension of posture dialogue, effective dialogue delivery, and confidence in public speaking.
Methodology, Posture Lab, & Teaching Skills
Learning topics include understanding and interpreting dialogue, connecting with students, using commanding language, and receiving feedback. This unit will address the specific needs of individuals and special populations, the principles of demonstration, observation, assisting and correcting, survey teaching styles, and outline the qualities of a teacher.
Anatomy lectures will cover basic principles as they relate to performing asana. Topics will focus on applying anatomy and physiology principles to yoga.
Yoga Lifestyle, Ethics, & Philosophy
Trainees will uncover the history of yoga, summarize traditional yogic texts, and introduce the ethical responsibilities of a yoga teacher. Students will learn about the Ghosh lineage and survey yoga philosophy and major yoga schools.
Professional Development and Practicum
Students will uncover the important traits of a professional yoga instructor and apply their understanding of dialogue and posture delivery in a real-class and real-studio setting. This includes practice teaching, receiving and giving feedback, observing others teaching, and learning the day-to-day operations of a yoga studio.
Post Graduate Internship
Trainees will continue their training and synthesize the information they have learned in a minimum of 40 hours of supervised teaching and studio classes.

Our team of staff members and visiting teachers each have more than a decade of teaching experience and our lead teacher and studio owner Donna Antonelli Demsey has 12 years of teaching experience with more than 2000 hours of certifications in traditional hot yoga methodology including beginner and advanced practice.
