Ditch the Fitness TRENDS and stay with what actually works!

Ditch the TRENDS and stay with what actually works!

Fitness advice on social media can be littered with misinformation and impossible promises.

No singular exercise can give you a six pack, and just because someone has a large following doesn’t mean they’re qualified to give fitness guidance.

If you are setting a fitness goal for this year or any time. it’s a good idea to avoid any fitness plan that promises a quick and easy fix. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Focus on finding movements you enjoy and building a regular habit, rather than the latest miracle workout.

Here at Original Hot Yoga HB, we promote a healthy, moderate lifestyle and when we do our “Challenges” like Fry January, we recommend 3-6 classes of any style or length each week, and not a 30 in 30 or unsustainable goal.

Here’s a guideline for a healthy lifestyle that is SUSTAINABLE”

Skip ❌ Extreme Challenges - things like the “75 hard” challenge and other fads that claim to :transform you in a “short time” are not sustainable.

Instead ✅ Build a healthy habit, start simply and find an activity that you enjoy enough to practice consistently, like Hot Yoga or Energizing and Fun Hot Sculpt.

Skip ❌ Workouts that claim to do “spot reduction” or focus on one body part.

Instead ✅ Practice a total body wellness program you enjoy.

Skip ❌ Fixating on Data or Trackers and specific heart rate checking. Many factors, including stress, weather and sleep patterns can affect your heart rate, and your heart rate data on a smartwatch or fitness tracker may not always be accurate. Plus, being so fixated on a devices, you tend to lose focus on why the practice is important in the first place.

Instead ✅ Pay attention to HOW YOU FEEL and become in tune with your body and mind (yoga is the perfect tool for this!). The more mindful and present you are the more you will enjoy your yoga and fitness practice.
